West Cork attic extension

We are extending this house in West Cork with a highly insulated and airtight first floor extension. It is timber frame construction, stick built on site by Patrick Courtney contractor. John O’Sullivan of Bantry is the structural engineer. A carefully detailing ventilated cladding covers the project which should have very low embodied carbon dioxide climate changing emissions associated with it.

The site is in Letterlickey, a West Cork townland between Ballydehob and Bantry. The house extension is due to be completed in Summer 2024.
